Client: Audio Centesis
Project: Logo Design

Comments: The name Audio Centesis is a riff on Amniocentesis, as such the logo is designed to hearken to that with the counter space provided by a stylized "A" providing the outline of a pipette; its pointed tip loaded with a sphere of mysterious cargo. The choice to opt for a "tech" styled font was made in reaction to the client mentioning the concept of a human/machine hybridization during the development interview.

New Years Showcase Poster

Client: Club Underground, Mpls
Project: Event Fliers for New Years Eve comedy and music showcase.

Comments: Dick Clark. What screams NYE more than Dick "Leatherface" Clark. The man with the best seat in Times Square Year after year has been treated to a bit of "creepification" to bring out the lights in his hypnotic eyes. Hide your 8x10 glossies!
To his right, your left, we have a representation of the fabled "Ball of the Ages" making its Neutonian decent from on high.

Tidbit: Dick's lapel button is a reference to the DC comic series Transmetropolitan, created by Warren Ellis

Sever the Reality Logo Design

Client: Sever the Reality
Project: Logotype and insignia design

Comments: For this client, a harsh electro-dance project, the aim was to create a standalone logotype as well as a pseudo militaristic insignia that could be used on merchandise.

The designs were developed by a mirroring of the letters STR and in the case of the insignia design a nod to accepted religious iconography.

Incorporating Egyptian motifs; I noticed somewhere along the design process that the letter forms create an implied ground zero; in the counter space between rises the form of a stylized mushroom cloud.

What a Collection...

Client: Club Underground
Project: Poster design for comedy showcase

Comments: Upon hearing the show title I knew a few things.
1) I was going to be afforded a fair amount of leeway in the final design
2)Hand rendering of the type was going to be required

I got to thinking; What makes an a$$hole? Ego. Who has greater ego than a megalomaniac? Who's one of history's most notorious megalomaniacs (besides the guy with the paintbrish mustache)? Benito Mussolini! I figured, if you've got Bobo calling you an a$$hole you must be an a$$ of some serious standing! The client agreed and after a few revisions to account for line up changes, off to the printers we went.

An Evening With the Independants

Client: Pophorse Records
Project: Poster design for show on 4th of July weekend

Comments: Pophorse wanted subject matter that reflected electronics, power and independence. Shown here with elements of cable, electricity, and the evocative glare of the great bald eagle.
